2002-10-30 04:25:00 | Hellow guys :) Please help :) I'm having this problem, my graphics on my computer seem to be really stuff up, I MEAN really stuff up :( . Every time when I tried to play Midtown Madness 2 on my computer, the graphics on it seem to have been ripped apart, screw up and cutted up :_| (you can still see some good graphics but...). I don't know if it's the integated garphic or just the integrated graphic driver, cause when I played CS and Warcraft 3 the graphics on it looks almost perfect, no problems :D . But when I tried Midtown Madness 2 the graphics was just out of it, way out of it! It not just Midtown madness 2, also Tony Hawks 3...the menu of the game wouldn't show and the place where the menu should be, keeps flashing things up. And also Max Payne the sory/Comic the pictures looked like it have be smeared, it's almost impossible to read, but inside the game the graphics are perfect. I really don't get why my new computer is having so many graphic problems when an older computer (that I still use) run these game perfect (well...the graphics are perfect but it lagges when playing a game that's why I'm trying to play games on the new computer) . Like I said on top my older computer ran these games almost perfect except for the speed. My older computer have the same brand of mainboard as the new one both MSI (old: MS5187 new:MS6378) and both of them uses the same type of integrated graphics, both of them are integrated Trident Blade2D/3D. My old computer seem to be able to detect that but the new one seem to detect VIA something...the old has the same driver but can detect the integrated graphic chip :( I even reformated my computer just to see if it would fix it Sorry if that was too much :( Computer: Win98Se, 128 SDRAM, 1300mhz Motherboard- MS 6378 Integrated graphic: Trident Blade2D/3D video accelerator (8MB shared) If any can help, it would be really really great :x . Thanks alot :) Jase Sen

2002-10-30 04:32:00 | The symptoms you describe on midtown madness 2 sound much like the effect of putting on the wrong version of the no cd crack. | BIFF (1) | |
2002-10-30 05:56:00 | But it worked perfectly on the old the computer :( | Jase1 (459) | |
2002-10-30 21:00:00 | Have you installed the latest VIA 4 in 1 drivers and video card drivers? | BIFF (1) | |
2002-10-31 06:46:00 | Ummmm . . . . I think so, I did installed the 4 in 1 driver from the mainboard CD, though . . . would that help? I've checked the MSI site but it doesn't seem they have any new driver updates :( . I'll try downloading it to check if it would work, thanks for the idea :) Any more suggestions would be great :) Thanks alot Jase Sen

2002-10-31 08:51:00 | You might be able to get newer video card drivers from Trident at http://www.tridentmicro.com and the latest 4 in 1 drivers from VIA at http://www.via.com.tw Make sure you have the latest version of directx from Microsoft at: www.microsoft.com good luck!!

2002-11-01 08:37:00 | Thanks alot for your time BIFF, but nothing seems to be able to fix the problem. I think it's probably just the dumb motherboard integrated graphic or the game. Any way I'm deciding to upgrade my motherboard in a few months time :) What type or brand of motherboard would you suggest for games and multi-tasks work, in other words, stable, support future hardwares etc Thanks alot for you time and help :) Jase Sen
