| 94247 | 2002-10-31 08:02:00 | I mentioned this in another thread, but since it is tpical: SKC discs are good, but try to buy the ones with the slim jewel cases, not the ones in plastic cleves (Like at the warehouse in 12 packs). These SKC ones have the label printed directly on the reflective surface, and the reflective surface has a tendency to flake off after awhile. I find that the discs with the glossy smooth finish on the label last longer in this respect as long as you find a brand that you and your CD-writer like. For a good balance between quality and price for crucial jobs, I use Emtec. They have a plastic coating on both sides of the reflective surface (like most MS discs for their software) and then the label is printed on the plastic. The reflective surface does not - can not flake off. They also burn well even at 40x even though they are only rated for 24x. They cost about $1.50 each, but I have got them cheaper on special. For everything else, I use cheap discs like melodies, and the Harvey Norman ones. G P |
