94316 2002-10-30 09:44:00 Yes i have all the settings in the right places (at least all the easy one's that I know of!) and I've heard that hibernate slows the comp, or at least does something bad, so that's turned off.
If it's just another MS glitch, I suppose I'll just have to put up with it, along with all the others..

Where did you hear that? I've never heard that, although I have heard something similar about suspend mode :D I've never had a problem with either though.

94318 2002-10-30 10:27:00 I read it at a tweaking site, I've just had a look around for it with no luck. If I get any time tomorow, I'll have another look!
Feel free to turn suspend ON, if you'd like problems with the superb suspend feature!! just think of the fun you can have tinkering about, trying to fix it..

94319 2002-10-30 10:33:00 Oh, found it in the regscrub tips page . . . which is in here . .

. carolina . rr . com/lexunfreeware/RegScrubXP/RegScrubXP . htm" target="_blank">home . carolina . rr . com

and says this:-

Remove Hibernation File

If you do not use hibernation, make sure you do not have it enabled, which reserves disk space equal to your RAM . If you have a hidden file on the root directory of your C-drive called hiberfil . sys, hibernation is enabled . To remove that file:

Go to Control Panel, select Performance and Maintenance, Power Options, Hibernate tab, and uncheck the Enable hibernation box .

doesn't sound so bad after all!
