94954 2002-10-31 21:32:00 When I go to install Intellipoint Explorer mouse it goes so far then says Internal Error 2103.48 how do I get rid of this so I can complete the install . I have tried to uninstall the old drivers but the same message comes up. The CDRom is version 4.0. Without the installation the side buttons and wheel will not work. Shirley alhayton (2403)

94956 2002-10-31 21:39:00 Alhayton,
I see in the MS Knowledge Base an article ... now even though its related to PictueIT/Works6... it may be a clue to your problem. See
Error Message When You Install: Internal Error 2103.48 (support.microsoft.com)

Cheers, Babe.

94959 2002-10-31 22:01:00 Alhayton, Have you tried the v4.1 drivers downloadable from Intellimouse (www.microsoft.com)

94960 2002-10-31 22:11:00 Hi Babe no I have not tried 4.1 . I will do that and let you know. Also how would I get on with installing version 3 drivers if that does not work. I have not been game to try that. Shirley alhayton (2403)
94961 2002-10-31 22:24:00 I installed an Intellimouse recently, and I think you have to install the software before you plug the mouse in.

I know it sounds silly, but I had to do the same with a Logitech webcam as well.

Delete what you have done so far, and retry without the Intellimouse plugged in

94962 2002-11-02 04:43:00 Hi Babe
I have downloaded V4.1 but it now gives me other messages about files wont load from Temp files I have tried my old V4 disk on 2 friends computers who have intellimouse explorer over the top of v3 and without V3 alsorts of ways and they still work. I have uninstalled all mouse files and even been to the registry and uninstalled from there still no luck. I have also put in and taken out the mouse when pc has been turned off and reinstalled all but nothing different. Do I now reinstall Windows 98 over the top or format and try again. Seems a waste of time just for a mouse.
Shirley Thanks for all your help everybody

that sounds like the error you get when trying to install the win2k/xp version on a win9x machine. make sure you have the correct driver and clean out windows temp file.
