94836 2002-10-31 09:42:00 Why can't I install the IE6 patch on the October CD? It keeps telling me IE6 must be installed. I have been using IE6 for months! Help! BeaJay (2400)
94837 2002-10-31 10:37:00 Is it the full and final version of 6 or Beta mikebartnz (21)
94838 2002-11-01 01:18:00 Sorry for delay, been working :-)

I don't use Beta versions, this computer is my work. It is the full beast, Version 6.0.2600,0000IS, running on Windows 98 SE2.

94839 2002-11-01 07:37:00 Hi BeaJay,

I believe the latest version of IE6 isV6.0.2800.11061c,

But don't know if this would make any difference?

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

94840 2002-11-01 22:10:00 I tried loading the version or IE6 that is on the October CD, where the update is, and it made no difference!

I am trying to avoid the longggggg download from the Microsoft site that is invariably interrupted. Maybe I just have to go with the long download.

That's IE6 SP1. IE6 SP1 isn't included in October PCWorld CD, but I hope its included with this month's CD

94842 2002-11-02 07:33:00 So what's with PC World, including IE6 and an update patch on the same CD when they are not compatible? Or is there some other explanation for my dificulty?

Has anyone else used the patch form the CD?
