94654 2002-10-30 17:37:00 I have done this before, but I just can't recall where to go and delete the cookies from my pc. Could someone put an end to my misery. olento (1662)
94655 2002-10-30 17:44:00 There is more than one way but if you want to do a manual clean of them this is just one of them.

Open Windows Explorer or My Computer (yours not mine) > C Drive > Windows > Temporary Internet Files > Select All within and Delete > then while still in C/windows look for a folder called Cookies and repeat as above, open, select all and delete.

While you are in there you could also look at Windows/Temp file and look at deleting some of the crap that builds up in there, if unsure about anything then just delete anything more than a couple of days old.

Is anyone one method better or worse than the other?

94657 2002-10-30 19:57:00 using the internet tools to delete the files doesn't work. It won't remove ALL the files. The best way is to do it manualy. Also folders where the rubbish is stored is different depending on which version of windows you use and what your settings are. If in doubt do a search for *.txt, *.html, *.jpg, *.gif files (internet files). This will reveil where the PC is storing the files, then you can navigate there and delete them. Make sure you only delete the rubbish ones. tarrangower (2382)
94658 2002-10-30 21:35:00 Hey that's great. I just did a 'find' for jpeg files and there are 54 on my comp. I don't have a clue about any of them. "Sub-tropical rainforest", "American Indian" etc etc, meaningless and undesirable.

Is it safe just to biff all the jpegs?

I mean maybe if you delete an MS jpeg the OS won't work?

94659 2002-10-31 01:55:00 If you want to really clean up the rubbish your browser stores, try a shareware program called Complete Cleanup (www.softdd.com/complete/). The free trial version does a great job and you can set it to get rid of most unwanted files. This includes cookies, temp files, history and even the information stored in the .dat files that you can't open.

Good luck.
