2002-10-31 06:13:00 | Jeesh!! Toyota!! What the heck? How did those spaces get in there... there not in the file I created and weren't seen in my previews etc? I'm sorry to anyone who might have read this and copied that in error. Thanks GP for picking that one up. Babe. :8}

2002-10-31 07:41:00 | No worries Babe - i have noticed the forum software does this to any long strings of text (eg like yours where there are long strings with no spaces). The same happens with long urls which is why it is better to use the [ url= ] [ /url ] tags. I just hope I found them all, and my file is sweet. :|?:| You live to see another day. G P

2002-10-31 08:01:00 | hmmm Mike, actually I used the [ b ] [ pre ] ... [ / pre ] [ b ] construct so I'm not sure what happened there. Babe.

2002-10-31 08:05:00 | This bug was discussed early on in the life of this forum, but I don't think they ever worked out how to stop it from happenning. que sera sera - just means we will have to be vigilant/wary when posting such strings of text. G P

2002-10-31 08:06:00 | So you did - well that blows that theory. I wonder what went wrong then... the [ pre ] tags are supposed to allow that sort of post. Mike.

2002-10-31 09:02:00 | Hey sorry no luck; it still didnt work. Hey thanks for "could be" saving my registry!! I tried the second one, not the first one (thank goodness for your speedy reply! But no it didnt work soooo, ill wait til i get a CDRW and backup everything and do a clean format. is it possible to do something like somesort of registry restore (like a system restore, only for the registry instead)??? Isnt that what the backing up the registry is for?? Thanks sooo much for everybodys help anyway. Jared

2002-10-31 09:18:00 | That is strange. try typing "D:\Windows\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\Binaries\helpctr.exe" into the run box and press enter. Make sure that the correct drive is in fact D:\ !!! If you have an old backup of the registry, you could try that, but that may muck up other settings. Try a system restore?? G P
