94779 2002-10-31 06:39:00 Does anyone know where I can get some generic 16-bit drivers for win3.11?

or failing that, some specific ones for the Western Digital WD90C33, or some other way of forcing windows to use greater than 256 colours?

Right now, I am playing around with a fairly old 486 that I have just assembled from scraps lying around. I have changed the shell to calmira (win95 style), and I am trying to display JPEG files without having to put up with colour dithering.

Cheers

94782 2002-11-01 03:08:00 damn, the WD drivers shown above have no 16-bit support. It mentions it in the help file but nothing else.

Back to squre one - any suggestions?

94783 2002-11-01 03:43:00 It may be easier in the long run to try and get hold of another video card, like a Trident for which there drivers are available and also vga utilities for changing resolution and number of colours etc. Cirrus Logic and Avance Logic (ALG) are other cards for which drivers and utilities can be downloaded. Win95 doesnt support some earlier Cirrus Logic cards above 16 colours though, even though they can be selected in the Win 95 drop down list of adapters. Terry Porritt (14)
