| 95285 | 2002-11-01 23:25:00 | I am unsure if anyone has posted on this yet, but I have been meaning to for sometime. Since the First issue of I-mag went on the shelves (before the name change) I was hooked, it was different from most other New Zealand produced Computer/Internet related magazines. It had more of a comic; un-serious side to it together with the excellent investigated stories, like the one relating to drugs being sold over the Internet. It differed from its look a like magazine Net Guide which I believe covered the same stories and issues month, after month. == [B] Join Kiwibank http://www.kiwibank.co.nz/ [B] |

| 95286 | 2002-11-01 23:45:00 | IDG posted it here as a sticky post for ages. And no, I won't join Kiddybank, you are either creating a new tradition or flouting an old one (not sure which) on PressF1 by advertising on each post? (I assume you are paying the host in line with the sanctioned ads?) |

I agree Godfather. Maybe Floppy can put his $4.50 per month in the Jimbo Bank Floppy, if I want to know anything about the Kiwibank, I will venture into a branch. This isn't the place to put in links like those. |

| 95288 | 2002-11-02 04:50:00 | The reason why I am adding a link on the end of all my post is to encourage other New Zealanders switch their banking to Kiwibank . It makes sense switching your banking to Kiwibank; overseas-owned banks reaped operating profits of $1,900 million from New Zealand last year imagine the positive effect on the New Zealand economy that size of investment would have . It will push down bank fees (20-30% cheaper); meaning millions more dollars will circulate in the economy . It will help to rebuild regional New Zealand by opening services in areas where previously they were closing (Kiwibank has more branches than any other bank in the country) . No the bank is NOT politically controlled . The bank will have has independent board and be supervised by the very rigorous Reserve Bank, just like any other registered bank . Regarding you labelling it kiddies bank Kids are one of the MOST valuable customers to a bank . Because of the reason once they reach over 18 they will be fee-paying customers, they take out loans for further education, buy homes, take out mortgages, and would be unlikely to change banks because of the long history they have enjoyed with the bank . This is a New Zealand bank, and all personal banking will be welcome . New Zealanders of many income levels and backgrounds are fed up with being gouged for bank fees and with the loss of services from their local communities . Many New Zealanders will want to bank with the new bank simply because it provides more convenience, the service standards and because it returns its profits to New Zealanders . |

Why did you decide to join KiwiBank? a) I like Jim b) I just felt like a change c) All other banks are scum d) Floppy recommended it If you do a search for IMag you will find the press release by Bruce. |

| 95290 | 2002-11-02 06:26:00 | Floppy, I bank at one of those "overseas owned" banks . I do not pay ANY bank fees . I do not pay an annual credit card fee . (and yes I have a card and use it) I get unlimited free electronic transactions . I get premium rates for deposited funds . So I cannot see what you are going on about . None of the above has anything to do with KiwiBank either, I have had that account position for years . And I do not work for a bank . Or have a relative that works for one . Or advertise one . What you promote may be true - for some . I couldn't get my deal at KiwiBank so its selectively true . Or not . |

| 95291 | 2002-11-02 06:52:00 | Kiwibank is useless No credit card facilities & No cheque book facilities So dosen't suit most normal bank users. |

| 95292 | 2002-11-02 07:01:00 | Kiwibank offer chequebooks (cheaper than every overseas owned bank), and a credit card (unsure of what network it is going to operate on, yet) is being released at the end/start of this year or this year . I do not work for Kiwibank; I am just a proud and loyal New Zealander . |

Another theft by the Govermint was the added petrol tax to pay for Auckland roads...... That really peeved me off. |
