| 95162 | 2002-11-01 10:01:00 | Hello Folks. Am I imagining things but since i started using Ad-Ware my spam seems to have grown. I now have 30-45 new spam e-mails everyday and i am sure i did not have that many before?. All sorts of stuff from loans, casinos, bankcards, porn, offers to a person called Kate. Has the junk started to increase? I have set my outlook express to just about every word pertaining to the junk but as they say the mail still gets through. |

| 95164 | 2002-11-01 10:47:00 | I have one Email account that I have been very carefull with but just recently I ended up with a friend in Aussie getting a Hotmail account and since then have been getting spam in that account. As I'm not terribly impressed with the ISP it might be time to get another Email account. Had one bit of spam the other day with an offer to loose weight. It had a link at the bottom to get off the list but it was a dummy. By viewing the source I got the true Email addy and sent one to them with the offer of assisting them to loose twenty pound instantly if they sent anymore crap. Have not heard back from them. |

| 95165 | 2002-11-02 05:55:00 | You can be as careful as you like with your email address, but as soon as you send an email to a friend/company/family member, etc, it's in the public domain. For example: If you send a joke to a friend, who forwards it to 10 friends (with your details still attached), who forwards it on to whomever they like, before you know it, it's on a spamail list and you're doomed. Fact: spam is unavoidable unless you NEVER use your email address. Fact: programs like Mailwasher help deal to the problem, but can't entirely kill it off. Fact: spam sux big time and spammers should never be allowed near the 'Net! X-( *sigh* The Sharkmeister |
