When that was 35 years, you didn't want to waste possible cannon-fodder breeding years. Since the Russion life expectancy has dropped 10 years now that they have the benefits of a "market capitalism" economy, perhaps they want to try to maintain their population. |

Pretty sure this is outdated info, because the Crimes Act was amended some years ago to make ages of consent equal between female and male. There are offences against girls and boys under 12, between 12 and 16, and then offences against men and women over 16. But both genders can consent to sexual activity from 16 onwards. From memory there was quite a debate about whether there should be a different age of consent for heterosexual and homosexual activity, but as far as I know, they are the same too - 16 years of age. I stand to be corrected, as ever... |
