95095 2002-11-01 08:40:00 Is it just me or do other ihug customers find that since the last school holidays ihug's performance has been a downright dog ?

Repetitive busy signals when trying to connect, spontaneous disconnects while in the middle of downloading large pdf emails and just plain downright slow patchy and sometimes zeero throughput ? Even ingress, egress congestion and first local router busy ...

I've been with them for years and sufferered with them through the busy school holiday periods , especially Christmas/summer but this is just the pits

Clearly I'm not happy and past experience has made me sceptical of complaining ( I don't want any more black marks on file ) so I guess I'm on the market for an ISP that delivers

Bye Bye Ginge

95097 2002-11-01 09:11:00 There have been many complaints concerning the services which Paradise Net (http://www.paradise.net.nz/) provides, however I personally have never found their service’s to be bad, I have been overly very happy.

The reason why I believe there have been many complaints about Paradise net is because faults are just so uncommon. I have been with them for over 5 years and their services have done nothing apart from improving. And their plans/fee has gone down (not like those greedy guys at Telecom’s Xtra).

I do believe Orcon ( If I was considering joining Orcon I would join their NEW subsidiary ‘Hyper Net’ (http://www.hyper.net.nz/" target="_blank">www.orcon.net.nz/) provides a very high service, if you want to pay their high prices. If I was considering joining Orcon I would join their NEW subsidiary ‘Hyper Net’ (http:) (powered by Orcon) – there shouldn’t be any different in services from Orcon and Hyper net, because you ‘should’ dial into the same dial in pool.

We are just luckily living in New Zealand, were we have a highly competitive Internet service market, unlike many other parts of the world. ‘Exercise your right to change’.

If you do decide to ‘discontinue’ your custom with Ihug, write them a letter (send it by post, they usually take more notice – that way. And address it to ‘head of customer services’) and detail your complaint and mention you would like a refund for the months you have received poor service.

95098 2002-11-01 09:32:00 the performance has been slow, i my self have experienced it and am a bit annoyed, when i wrote to them they said that it was due to people who were on ADSL and downloading way more than the limit, and thus bringing the whole server to lower limits per user. Wot they say might be true, but u never know.

cheers,
v.K

95100 2002-11-01 09:57:00 all I can say is good luck in finding a perfect ISP. Every dog has its days, and the current state of affairs in NZ do not allow the establishment of decent net access. SoniKalien (792)
95101 2002-11-01 10:04:00 at the moment there are some troubles with some ISPs. Clear, Paradise and SNAP have been caching some pages a bit too much.

To the point of some people getting logged in as others at forums. Though it may not be just those ISPs, there is something funny happening.
