2002-10-31 23:18:00 | I just tried to upload a screenshot for viewing in another thread, but it wouldn't let me upload it to either of my Orcon accounts. I got an error message stating that there was not enough room on the device. My accounts with Orcon ar open (I just checked on their website), and both accounts are using less than 1MB of their 10MB quota. I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem??? My hostnz account works fine. G P

2002-10-31 23:26:00 | HI Graham I just tried and it allowed me in to upload. It may be a temporary region-only problem, we had the same problem in Tauranga a few weeks ago. J :D

2002-10-31 23:30:00 | I had a similar problem with ihug a few years back. As few people would use exactly 10Mb what the hosts do is "average" the requirements. So 100 people with 10Mb would need 1000Mb but the disk requirements at any one time might be only 500Mb (or even 300Mb) so rather than waste the extra they wait till it's needed then add it. If they've had a spurt of new signups or increased use then the upgrade may have caught them by surprise. Bad planning in a pay for service is not good for business (ihug learnt from that and haven't done it since), for a free service - you get what you pay for. It could take them longer to come up with the cash for an upgrade.

2002-11-01 00:03:00 | You've just inspired me to be a tidy kiwi and look for unused and duplicated files on my little peice of the orcon server... there should now be another 1½meg spare. I wonder if that will make much differance? anyways >Bad planning in a pay for service is not good for business (ihug learnt from that and haven't done it since), for a free service - you get what you pay for. It could take them longer to come up with the cash for an upgrade. Orcon are involved with united networks who claim to move about 40% of the local traffic of this country, they obviously dont do this for free. It may be noted that seeing most of the traffic this server has will be local traffic, that Orcon will then sell its bandwidth from this server to other Orcon customers and other ISPs. For every Mb from that server equates to one less Mb Orcon have to buy from Telecon for connection to overseas servers. you gets what the site viewers are paying for .Clueless

2002-11-01 09:51:00 | I'm having, specifically, trouble uploading a 115k zip file and a 5k jpeg. Same error: no space left on device, although my entire web site totals 1.2Mb.
