Anybody else here use the Mozilla browser?

If so, does it notify you of any emails that you receive?

I have enabled auto download of messages and check every so&so minutes but it will only do the notification after I have actually clicked the mozilla email program envelope button. I use netscape 4.78 and when I receive an email an envelope appears in the systray, I thought Mozilla would do something similar.

Cheers

95534 2002-11-02 18:54:00 Can,t help you there sorry Phar but lots of people here use and would recomend a program called Mailwasher which has many many benefits for checking your email. Danger (287)
95535 2002-11-02 18:57:00 I use Mozilla mail and I believe that it checks your mail every now and then. If you can't fix the problem, maybe you could try the latest 1.2b version of Mozilla?

The thing to make sure is that you actually have mail to be received. If you don't, then Mozilla isn't going to tell you.

95536 2002-11-02 23:00:00 Well I've got the browser installed but don't use it for email. I'll just configure and have a go though.

At a guess though, do you actually have the mail client running and checking for messages.

95537 2002-11-02 23:16:00 Well I'm not too sure if it's possible to minimise it to the tray, but you do get notified if you have the email client minimised -=JM=- (16)
95538 2002-11-03 07:56:00 I have Mozilla running, but only use the mail after a good Mailwasher spin cycle. With all the risk of email attachments, it is safer to chack them first before downloading them to your computer. And Mailwasher (www.mailwasher.net) can do this very well.
I know Mozilla is great and all, and it does have the email feature, but have you heard of Phoenix (mozilla.org). This browser is slimmer and faster (so they say) than Mozilla, but has slightly more inside it. I recommend a look anyway.:)

95539 2002-11-03 09:36:00 Yes Phoenix is great as is Mozilla.

I must get round to trying to modify the code at some stage so that I can have an application close confirmation.

Also there is no real need for Mailwasher if you're not using OE and you don't get lots of spam.
