Not so sure about Open office but pretty sure about StarOffice 5.2

But would it be possible to do it with any executable if you can do it with soffice.exe

As far as any executable, only if it is written as a shell, and this is how litestep etc works - by changing the shell= line to the shell exec.

So theoretically if we wanted to turn a pc into a game kisok (or similar) I would just replace shell=explorer.exe with shell=program_i_want_to_run.exe ??

Also, the origional windows 95 installer offered to use "progman.exe" for a windows 3.1 feel.

95618 2002-11-04 08:50:00 Cool, this brings back memories of last Christmas, when I broke into a free internet kiosk at Sydney International Airport.

How did I do that; glad you asked.

They were running ie in kiosk mode with custom address bar that the created so that you couldn’t feed system commands directly to ie, and weren’t running explorer. The problem was I couldn’t access the C drive on the system as I had to log onto the system first, so what I did was type in /../ or ///../ (if I remember right), that brought up a logon box which gave me the network name of the pc I was using, and of course they hadn’t password protected it so I cold click ok to the logon button.

Now I was logged on to the PC and had full access rights, I could just type in the network name of the system I was using into the custom address bar and get access to its HDD, and have a bit of fun ]:)

Oh yea, there were about 10 or so free kiosks when I was there ;\

Cheers
