95619 2002-11-03 04:12:00 I've come across an annoying problem in the Open boxes of Applications running in XP. For some reason, it's started listing all files and folders in descending order. I can change it back to Ascending by right clicking a blank area and clicking Arrange Icons by Name, but it doesn't save this setting, so I have to do this in EVERY Open Files dialog box in any application.

This is the first time I've encountered the problem, and it's got me stumped. Resetting folder settings in folder options doesn't work, selecting to make all folders look like the one I have open does not work. The funny thing is that I didn't change any setting to make it go like this, started doing it after formatting and re-installing XP. Does anyone know of a fix for this, small yet highly frustrating problem?

95620 2002-11-03 05:00:00 do u have XP home or XP professional? did u do the "over the top installation" or a full installation that overwrites all the old files? vk_dre (195)
95621 2002-11-03 05:18:00 XP Pro. I formatted and started from scratch, so nothing from the previous installation should have got mixed up with it... Matt_NZ (841)
