95355 2002-11-02 04:12:00 I transferred a SEK'D 4 channel analog recording card into my other computers ISA slot. Went to turn on the computer and it will not boot. It turns on but then will not proceed further and the computer will turn off. Would be greatful for any advice nick23 (2416)
95356 2002-11-02 04:34:00 Advice - certainly!

Take the card out. The PC will probably go now.

Just a hint, you may get some advice if you also say what your operating system is, and what motherboard. All relevant information

And when you say "will not boot" do you get anything on the screen?

95357 2002-11-02 10:42:00 My operating system is a AMD k6 processor, sis 530 AGPset with a asus motherboard 156mb ram and 600mhz. I want the ISA card to work on this one but have never installed an ISA card before. When I turn the power supply on the power light is on but the screen remains blank. It does work when I take the card out. nick23 (2416)
95358 2002-11-04 03:24:00 Some ISA cards don't work very well on modern machines. It may have RAM which shares the address space at about 15-16MB ... and only work if the BIOS setting gives a gap there. That can stop you using the rest of your memory (so much for Windows :D). But it shouldn't stop you booting completely. Does it go through the POST? Graham L (2)
