| 96017 | 2002-11-05 00:58:00 | I am considering partitioning my 40GB hard-drive (Win 98SE) and decided to review the PM 7 Demo on an earlier PC World CD. It seems to instal OK but when I attempt to activate the program I get the following error message: "Init failed. Error 117. Partition drive letter cannot be identified". To the best of my knowledge I haven't done anything else yet, so what is PM trying to tell me? |

| 96018 | 2002-11-05 01:12:00 | Extract from the PM7 docs (relating to error 117): "You may also see this error when running PartitionMagic under Windows. The solution is to run PartitionMagic from DOS or from MS-DOS mode (in Windows 95 or Windows 98). When PartitionMagic runs from DOS or from MS-DOS mode, it does not need to be able to find the drive letter for each partition. Thus, if the problem indicated by this error message is the only problem, PartitionMagic can run successfully." You probably can't make the dos boot disks for PM7 from the demo - its very limited in that it can show you what can be done, but won't allow you to actually perform any of the functions. |

| 96019 | 2002-11-05 01:33:00 | ive had this error before... i was using mcafee safe and sound that came with virusscan 5.2, and it had mapped the backup volume to a drive letter look on your machine and see if you are running any utilities like this. disabling these utilities creating a virtual drive should fix it. |
