95888 2002-11-04 09:34:00 Hi there people,
Unfamiliar with win98, but mother in law has asked me the following question,

"How to put Accessories Folder back into the programs folder in the Start menu.
At the moment it is on the desktop and also sitting above the Start menu.
Just above the menu in Start is another list of programs. ie: New Office Document, WinZip and Windows Update as well there is now two Accessories 1 and 2.

I tried to click and drag the folder to the start menu but that only puts another Accessories folder in the space above the programs folder.

I try to click and drag from there to the program folder and nothing
happens. Please help me.

As you can see a desperate women. :D

cheers merlin-nz ;-)

95889 2002-11-04 09:39:00 You need to click and drag it to the start menu then wait for it to popup and then drag over to programs and then to the accessories folder.

This should work.

95890 2002-11-04 13:04:00 Hi...

Try Start - Setting - Taskbar & Start Menu; Click on Start Menu programs then the Add Tab, then Browse Tab to find where your original accesories folder actually resides (try Start- Find- Accesories*.* or right click the accesories folder that was moved - then click find target...which displays the accesories directory location) then click on the path to enter (back at Browse tab), then follow the tabs to hopefully bring the folder back... Hope this works...

Cheers...

95892 2002-11-04 20:53:00 Click and drag will work, but I also prefer Right-Click and drag as it presents you with a list of options (Move/Copy/Create Shortcut/Cancel) when you release the button. It's much simpler than trying to remember the default click and drag function (Is it move or is it copy ? :)).

Cheers

95893 2002-11-04 21:02:00 Right-click on the Start Menu, and select 'Properties'.
Then in the new window, select the Start Menu Programs Tab and then click on Advanced.

This will bring up an explorer menu, in which you can locate the Accessories folder on the Desktop and drag it into the appropriate folder in the Start Menu.

Hope this helps!

Right-click on Start button, choose Explore and with the Desktop visible drag the folder from the Desktop into Win Explorer where you want it to go.
