| 95764 | 2002-11-04 00:02:00 | Running Windows 2000, I have a lot of hidden directories under the /winnt subfolder that are called : $Ntservicepackuninstall$, $NtuninstallSp2srp1$, $Ntuninstallq328523$ etc. etc. These files total 280Mb and I presume are backups from Microsoft updates etc. What I would like to know is it safe to delete these folders from my hard drive? | fnphoto (2434) | ||

| 95766 | 2002-11-04 02:59:00 | These files hold the uninstallation data for the updates and service packs. Unless you are really stretched for HDD space, leave them. If, for some reason Microsoft have not yet told us about, you need to uninstall any service pack, you would be unable to do so if they are removed. |
