| 95673 | 2002-11-03 20:05:00 | Hello I am looking for a good download manager. Currently I use Get Right but I am having numerous problems with that lately under Win XP Prof Ed SP1. Can anyone recommend an alternative that is at least on par with Get Right? Thank you in advance. |

| 95676 | 2002-11-03 21:16:00 | Hi Lohsing Problems 1) Whenever I try to resume through Get Right it gives a msg something like 'Site is unavailable, this could be because . . . ' and does not connect . When I go into the configuration I need to change it to Use Dial Up Networking Software and reenter the account details for my connection - login etc . When I close the configuration window and then go back to it all the info I altered is lost e . g . it goes back to 'Never dial' and the account details I entered just 10 seconds ago are not there anymore - so I reenter, Apply and OK, reopen configuration window and its all gone and reset again! I have a home network and have tried various other settings but to no avail . 2) The downloads often have probs - e . g I have tried to download he ISOs for Linux and even tho' they're 630MB approx - if I disconnect once and resume then the file 'jumps' to 99% complete and the download finishes - even though in reality the file will be only 1% downloaded . I am running 4 . 5D Get Right, and even redownloaded it from Tucows, and Get Right but same probs . Any suggestions?? |

| 95679 | 2002-11-04 00:04:00 | Hi... I also star downloader which looks okay, and very easy to use. Also use "Leechget" from www.webattack.com, which is fancy and colourful (sort of XP style), and provides plenty of info for sources of downloads. It has a good progress chart to look at when downloading... |

| 95680 | 2002-11-04 00:46:00 | there are heaps to try. download accelerator(DAP) is a good one. and so is netant. I am using the aboving two. but dont let either one be your default download manager. there are situations which DAP/netants cannot handle. I dont think getright can handle all things either. there is another one named netcammel... use www.google.com to search a download site. good luck |
