95906 2002-11-04 10:05:00 I have a new computer with xp installed
along with a lot of stuff I have no use for .But the thing I need the most It won't do tho the old computer did it perfectly.
I take a lot of digital photos and on the old computer the Digital camera Manager made the job of touching up and choosing the best easy as a double click gave an enlargement. All it gives on the new computer is a message; RUNDLL
Error in C:\windows|system32\SHIM GVW.DLL
Missing entry:IMAGEVIEW_FULL SCREEN
Does that mean they missed something out when they installed windows and how can I fix it. Prue

95907 2002-11-04 10:19:00 The entry should be standard in an XP installation.

You could try going Start - Run
and in the Run dialogue box type: regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

Note that there is a space between regsvr32 and shimgvw.dll

And also note that shimgvw.dll is one word, not two as you described.

This operation will register the dll, in case it has been de-registered. Some people de-register it to stop Windows fax an picture viewer from opening by default (which is what you are expecting)

95908 2002-11-05 00:54:00 thanks Godfather I have followed your instructions and it did as it was told --but the pics on the camera manager still wouldnt enlarge so I went back to RUN and added imageview _full screen and the message came back that it wasn't in their library. So looks as tho I'll have to keep my old 98 for photo work-- or else trade my xp wirh some one for an installation of 98. I don't suppose its possible to have both xp and 98 installed on the one computer is it.?
At present I'm having a real hate session wth the xp----- To think that the English version of consumer quoted changing to xp as the solution to all the peoblems!!! prue

Yes, you can actually. Go to the FAQs (link top right of this page) and read FAQ #2.
