I'm frustrated. My XP Pro (SP1 & IE6.0.2800) desktop on an NT4 (SP6) domain is connecting via an internal dialup modem. After a few minutes on the internet, and especially after an idle period, there is no response from my ISP. I've put manual dns settings into the dialup configuration, tried ipconfig /flushdns, but the only fix seems to be to disconnect then reconnect again. Any ideas for a fix gratefully recieved. |

Are you connecting via a proxy server? |

Your machine (with XP Pro) is connected on a LAN with an NT server. You are connecting to an ISP through a modem in your machine. Is this a "work" system? If so, your system administrator might not be very pleased. ;-)
It might be the DNS server (and the NT Server) of your LAN which can't be found, after you have changed settings to use the modem. |
