96342 2002-11-06 05:38:00 I'd recommend Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox 3 - at just over $1,000, it's slightly more expensive than a Sony NetMD, but you get HEAPS more from it.

I bought one over 2 months ago, from Advantage Computers, and it's excellent.. 10Gb hard-drive (I've only half filled it), 22 hours battery life (if you buy both Li-On batteries), and you can also buy a docking station to interact better with your PC, car kit, firewire card for super-fast transfers, and a bunch of other stuff. I swear by the thing!

Last week i looked at a car Cd player that played MP3's, this will soon become the norm, and make the stacker in the boot completely obsolete.

The NZ Panasonic Website has several top end Car MP3 Players which lists their specifications...but not prices...

A NetMD actually transfers the MP3 into Sony's ATRAC format. So it's not exactly an MP3 player.
I was weighing out a hard-drive based player, but i use mine while doing physical activity so the hard-disk would have been prone to skipping and bad sectors. a minidisc player has about 56hours of optimal play back. Which is good also.
