| 96206 | 2002-11-06 00:19:00 | What do you mean by lower end of the spectrum? WinAmp will run on a P60, and I dont think that Pentium PC's go below a 60Mhz Clock speed. 486's are next in line, but the least yuo'd be able to do would probably be a 40Mhz DX based m/c. SX machines just wouldnt handle the decoding I think... May be wrong though. I'd use SoriTong on a PC that's less than a P75. 75Mhz will do for WinAmp, but it starts lagging after that and needs quality settings tuned down. So, What machine are you trying to run it on anyway? | 96207 | 2002-11-06 01:54:00 | try coolplayer or zinf. both free. zinf is a little bit more functional than coolplayer, but they are both pretty light, especially coolpayer. zinf from www.zinf.org and coolplayer from www.daansystems.com drwback of them both: no graphic equalizers |

| 96209 | 2002-11-06 05:42:00 | er, better late than never I guess... try MusicMatch Jukebox - excellent player! And if you want all the bells and whistles and are prepared to spend a little dosh (US$29.95), then go for the upgrade - MusicMatch JukeboxPlus. Thoroughly recommend it. http://www.musicmatch.com Cheers The Sharkmeister |
