| 96502 | 2002-11-06 07:07:00 | My Epson480 printer suddenly won't print anything. It seems that it's no longer receiving a print message from my computer. It doesn't register any activity at all. It is all plugged in and will respond to other utility checks etc. A message comes up saying: 'Unknown error has occurred. Unplug your printer and contact your dealer'. Any ideas out there on what I could do to get it functioning again? Thanks |

| 96503 | 2002-11-06 07:40:00 | HI Chris I had that very same problem with an Espon printer a few months ago - it was a new model - one of the el cheapos that comes with a PC COmpany machine. Anyway all the checks ran fine but there was no result other than returning it for repair. It was back in a week all go...so no answer sorry! It if it is a newer model you may have to do the same. |

| 96504 | 2002-11-06 09:08:00 | From Epson Support... "Unknown Error" Turn off the printer. Check for and remove any foreign objects or pieces of paper from inside the printer. Then, turn it back on. If the error indicator does not change, turn off the printer and contact your dealer. |

| 96505 | 2002-11-07 03:25:00 | My 15 year old friend has become expert at reinstalling the Epson480 printer. It's too clever by half, slurps lots of ink everytime it's turned on (cleaning the head), had refused to print on a cold morning (assignment due, of course) because the cartridge was "empty" after about 3 pages of text ... But it seems to like to have its driver reinstalled often. I don't have a high opinion of modern printers. ;-) |
