2002-11-06 03:22:00 | Hi, has anybody had experience with MS Professional Office used ok in Win 98 and transferring it for use in XP. ?Updating drivers etc, bugs or other hassles encountered. Any comments would be appreciated. | FrankS (257) | |
2002-11-06 03:33:00 | FrankS, I use MS Office 2000 Premium on WinXP, previously run on WinNT4, and Win2000Pro (used Office97 on Win9x). Don't forget to apply the service packs (service releases) ie SR1a (110Mb) and SP2 (19Mb) and the downloadable security patches. Never had any 'real' issues with it. Cheers, Babe.

2002-11-07 02:26:00 | Mike, the details re the version of Office which it is hoped to use Word version 7.0 (aka Word95) Excel version 7.0 (aka Excel95) Frank.

2002-11-07 06:52:00 | I do believe that Office 95 is not an XP supported package - it's not expected to run in Windows XP. If you do get it to work, you're lucky, but I'd suggest you'll probably need to upgrade to a newer version. Mike.

2002-11-10 03:05:00 | For info, Word worked OK with Compatability Win 95, but Excell would not. Excell runs with Compatability Win 95 switched off. Don't ask how, why or what hex was cast on the screen. Frank.
