97024 2002-11-07 23:04:00 In the past 2 hours, there has been an AVG update, it is 1448.3 KB big and has added detection of I-Worm/Bridex and made some changes into the Resident Shield.

It will require a restart.. so sorry, that means you actually have to leave PF1... Hey, there's a first for everything!

97026 2002-11-07 23:25:00 Yes - NAV has yet another update available as well. It should be up to 62320 definitions as of 6/11/2002. Jen C (20)

97028 2002-11-08 03:49:00 Thank's CS & Jen C,

You both beat me to it as did'nt expect new updates after the new one's of last 2 days.

I see that you have to reboot to get the new total of defs with NAV!
Seems odd as the total changed to 26295 after D/L,but up to 26320
after rebooting?Thanks Jen C.

Cheers<Kiwitas,;-)

97029 2002-11-08 04:56:00 Hi Kiwitas, you don't have to reboot for the NAV defs. Chilling Silence comments were for AVG not NAV.

Cheers

97031 2002-11-08 07:01:00 Hi again Jen C,

> Hi Kiwitas, you don't have to reboot for the NAV

Understood, but what i was trying to say was after I downloaded
and installed the NAV updated defs.,my virus total went from 26632 odd
to 26985.

Your post said there was 26320!so I rebooted and checked virus file
# again only to find I also had the 26320!

I have noticed this in the past and I think that it is because I dont have
NAV loaded as my real-time scanner and only keep it updated as a backup for Avast32, just in case a virus disables it as some of them seem to do!

With AVG updates.I have noticed that any update over 1Mb you have to reboot,as it usually has an App update with def files added!

I am using W98as my OS and the above may be different with other OS's

Cheers,Kiwitas,;-)

97032 2002-11-08 08:20:00 Arghh ... too much confusion Kiwitas :D

I currently have protection against 62320 viruses - not 26320.

My NAV is an OEM version (NAV for Windows 95) according to "help about" - it came with my WinME PC.

Confused - yes, I am.

My mistake, your 62320 is the correct figure!(I just put the 26/62 around
the wrong way!:8)
