| 97398 | 2002-11-09 07:16:00 | When I try to send a file as an attachment in OE to myself inorder to check that I am doing the right thing .....a Windows Wordpad 'doc' file , and also the same message as a 'txt' file (Notepad) I get the error msg when I receive the mail "OE removed access to the following unsafe attachment in your mail : *****.doc an the same with the txt file. I have Nortons Personal firewall and I have tried with both e-mail 'send' formats , either html or Text....makes no difference. Can anyone please help ? |

| 97399 | 2002-11-09 07:23:00 | In Outlook Express 6 - Go to Tools - Options - Security Tab and untick - Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus. Hope that helps, but remember to tick it again if you want protection again. |

I was never quite sure about that setting...I can see now that it does give me the option of dealing with an unrecognized message if I have to , but I didn't realize that it completely blocked ALL attachments if activated. I'm very grateful. bw. |
