| 97326 | 2002-11-09 03:09:00 | can anyone help with the installation of a hp 3400c scanner. have followed the instructions for installation on the hp site for scanner, even purchased new installation disc. but windows xp home edition comes up with a hp 4300c scanner every time and will not see the 3400c scanner |

| 97327 | 2002-11-09 03:18:00 | A case of Dyslexic Windows.... Are you installing the software first, plugging in the scanner first, or what? It can be critical the order that you do it. I have had no problem with a 3300C scanner, after I downloaded the XP drivers. From memory I ran the installation program without the scanner connected, and connected it at the end. |

| 97331 | 2002-11-10 02:43:00 | Well you've tried the right way. Try removing the driver. Shut down and turn off. Turn on the computer with the scanner connected and try "Add Hardware", "have disk", etc. Intsructions aren't always right. :D |
