97327 2002-11-09 03:18:00 A case of Dyslexic Windows....

Are you installing the software first, plugging in the scanner first, or what? It can be critical the order that you do it.

I have had no problem with a 3300C scanner, after I downloaded the XP drivers.

From memory I ran the installation program without the scanner connected, and connected it at the end.

97328 2002-11-09 20:21:00 Yes - I am installing software without the scanner connected Stunz (2491)
97329 2002-11-09 21:39:00 So what happens?

You install the software, then when you connect the scanner Windows recognises it as a 4300?

Does it work OK as a 4300? (who knows, they may be variations of the same theme?)

97331 2002-11-10 02:43:00 Well you've tried the right way. Try removing the driver. Shut down and turn off. Turn on the computer with the scanner connected and try "Add Hardware", "have disk", etc.

Intsructions aren't always right. :D
