97226 2002-11-08 08:39:00 When opening an application and starting a new project I get a message, " app" caused an exception 10H in module "app".exe.......
Can you explain what this means?
Robin (2487)
97227 2002-11-08 08:44:00 If by "app" you mean the application you are trying to run, then the cause can be application dependant.

For instance if its in MS Works, its usually a printer driver problem.

What applications?

97228 2002-11-08 09:09:00 If you are asking about Fatal Exception Error 16 (10h), this is a Coprocessor Error Fault This interrupt occurs when an unmasked floating-point exception has signaled a previous instruction. (Because the 80386 does not have access to the Floating Point unit, it checks the ERROR\ pin to test for this condition.) This is also triggered by a WAIT instruction if the Emulate Math Coprocessor bit at CR0 is set.

Two common causes of this error are faulty physical memory (RAM) on the computer and 'buggy' device drivers (particularly printer drivers).

For suspected software/application/Windows error(s); If the errors only occur within a single application, you could remove then re-install that application software, that may fix the error; however, if the errors happen in several programs or Windows itself you may need to re-install the Windows and all the programs.

97230 2002-11-11 02:35:00 I have reinstalled and still have the same problem Robin (2487)
97231 2002-11-11 04:51:00 I would start by installing the latest drivers for your printer, get them from the manufacturers web site. Printer driver software conflict is a major cause.

When you say you reinstalled, was that windows you reinstalled or the application, or both?

97232 2002-11-11 10:45:00 Only the application. Robin (2487)
97233 2002-11-11 20:33:00 If you have updated your printer driver, and it still occurs then you should consult the manufacturer of the program. Was the program a downloaded Trial Version or a retail package. If a downloaded trial, then are you sure its not corrupted?

As it is, we don't know if you are running Windows or using an Apple, the program is avaiable for each. We have assumed its Windows.

With no information at all, we cannot help much more
