| 97161 | 2002-11-08 03:40:00 | Hi every1 i have a machine with 2 hard drives installed - there is no OS installed, when i try and run startup disk a similair error to 'no device found, aborting installation no cd rom drivers selected', pops up . i have tried with several different cd roms and get the same error every time. I have also tried other IDE chains with no go. Sounds like something to do with BIOS or motherboard, any iseas .... ? Thanks |

| 97162 | 2002-11-08 03:51:00 | As there is no OS installed, I assume you are booting with DOS floppy? Do you have CD drivers on the floppy, if you don't then that's what you are being told at a guess. |

| 97164 | 2002-11-08 03:56:00 | Can you explain exactly what your startup disk is? I'm not sure if you are using a boot floppy or bootable CD-ROM? If it is a bootable CD then check that the bios is setup with the correct boot order. Check the jumper of the cdrom drive is not using cable select but is set as a master (or slave)/ |
