| 97157 | 2002-11-08 10:01:00 | Dude go for Gigabyte. They are the best!!! Whatever others may say for Asus, i recommend Gigabyte. Asus is more pricey cause of its brand, but Gigabyte is just as good or even better with more reasonable price. I got a old LX440 chipset based Gigabyte mb with celeron 333 and its still rock solid after 4yrs! Though it seems you want to use SDRAM so you will have to go for a bit older model that supports it. And those ones either dont have AGP slots or have only 3 PCI's. Check out the Gigabyte (http://www.giga-byte.com) website Cheers |

| 97158 | 2002-11-10 07:10:00 | hey what speed athlon are you going to use in this build? if its anything fast than the 1.3Ghz t-bird then i would strongly reconmend making the jump to DDR-RAM or atleast use the motherboard your friend reckonemended. If you use SD-RAM you wont experience the full power of the Athlon. But if you really want SD-RAM then check out the Soltek SL-75KAV damm good board i have personally used it and its stable and have never had any problems. It uses the VIA KT-133A chipset and has all the features you wanted. Check it out here (www.soltek.de) I think <a href="www.oemcomputers.co.nz>OEM Computers< and Manakau has it for $189 inc.
