| 97525 | 2002-11-10 07:00:00 | I added the cd-rom to the system when I booted up the system looked at the cd-rw drive proceeded to the cd-rom and freezes if i press my setup keys it will continue to boot. how do I go about getting the system to boot normally. or to ignore looking at the cd-rom for a boot disk while still looking at the cd-rw. | Errol (2499) | ||

If you can break up your questions into sentences, and use punctuation it would make life so much easier! My understanding is: You had a CD-RW drive, and added an extra CD ROM drive. When the system boots up, it looks at the CD-ROM drive and freezes. Did you set the jumpers correctly for Master/Slave on the back of the drive? It shouldn't freeze, even itf its checked for a valid boot disk. Is it showing up in the BIOS? If it is, you should be able to set the boot priority (by taking it down below the HDD in order) to ignore it, but advise re the jumpers first. |
