97635 2002-11-18 23:07:00 with WMA when you record them (rip from cd) the default setting is to "protect them" (personal rights managment) so they can't be played on other peoples pc's. i dislike WMA. the qualitly is not great. tweak'e (174)
97636 2002-11-18 23:11:00 The Rights Management can be a real pain when switching OS's. When I did an upgrade from 98 to dual booting with 2K, it didnt let me play any of the encoded music. My MP3's still worked fine, but any CD that my brother had Ripped using WMP 7 didnt. So much for that, coz I was fully put off after that. MP3 is so much more widely used, and easier too. If you're not streaming from the web, stick to MP3! Chilling_Silence (9)
97637 2002-11-19 00:32:00 OK, fella’s and fellesse’s let’s cut to the chase.

I’ve fed 200 odd tracks through mp 7.1 and therefore have some 200 odd WMA tracks that have this personal rights management.

1: Can I successfully change these to mp3’s? (Bearing in mind the already attached appendages)

2: If so, what is the preferred method?

3: If not and I have to return to square one (and throw a six to get out), which is the best, programme to painlessly turn cd’s into mp3’s?
