| 1321247 | 2013-01-03 09:50:00 | I have a friend who recorded a studio album with some friends, the master disk of course just has Track 01 etc on it. They want to give a few copies to friends and include the track name and other information. So far I havn't been able to help, Burning a data CD didnt work, making a .cue in imgburn didn't either. I'm consulting via phone so I'm not sure if I'm going wrong or if there was a misplaced mouse click somewhere. What's a nice, easy way to get track information embedded with the CD that will carry over when played Via CD player or when ripped with itunes/other ripping software. I got him to rip the CD to 320kbps MP3 + add the tags but it's getting the tags to burn to the CD is being problematic. Cheers. |

| 1321248 | 2013-01-03 10:05:00 | Audio CD's don't have tags, there is an extension to the CD format called CD text which works with a lot of modern players but not all and should work with ripping software as well. Find a burning program that supports CD text and that's the best you can do. Most Audio CD's are recognised by a ID number which is looked up in an online database and that's where track listings come from on a pc. Disconnect the internet and put a CD in your PC that's never been inserted into it before and you will get track01, track02, etc Remember the CD standard is over 30 years old. Another option is to burn a mixed mode CD with audio tracks and a data track for album art etc. |

| 1321250 | 2013-01-04 19:36:00 | Not specifically, the cue sheet certainly can be used to write CD-text as part of the authoring process but is itself not what I was referring to. IMG burn and Nero both have options to burn audio CD's with CD text and let you edit them if need be, other software probably does too.
