1295387 2012-08-18 15:24:00 I've had some time on my Nexus7 and Jellybean and am amazed at the speed of booting, playing videos from online sites and generally the cleanness of the way it feels . It's like it has abilities where my dinosaurs don't .

What I wonder is: is Jellybean LIKE an operating system, but not entirely inside the Nexus? I mean, is there a lot of cloud-stuff going on where I am not so much as running from internal calls and routines and instead using Android's or Google's machines to help me access and see the things I want to see?

F'rinstance: when I want to see a YouTube vid on my desktop, it takes a while to grind it out and then it might spool a bit once in a while, but the N7 just gets 'er done and smartly . Both the N7 and the tower (and my netbook) use the same ISP router, both are on WIFI and the tower on CAT5e, BTW .

On my N7 I installed something called Air Push Detector and Avast Mobile Security - but that's about it in the security department . They were both 'advised' by Android Apps, so I went and done it - but wonder if I have enough, too much or did it right for once .

Since I'm still waiting for my custom-built desktop machine to replace the antique I currently have - and I take my N7 to bed for late night reading since the monitor/keyboard/tower won't fit on my pillow, I find the N7 just perfect for that activity and I am using my tower for less and less all the time .

Just musing and wonderin', that's all .

1295389 2012-08-18 22:50:00 Ya know - I don't see much else offered as a security device for Jelly Bean/Android that's NOT a phone.

Avast is super tiny here I think.
