1296232	2012-08-24 04:58:00	People are not penalised for greed Cicero, and nor am I suggesting this. They tend to penalise themselves by lending money with poor security. Finance companies offered NO security other than what they considered their good reputation, which vanished in a flash when ready cash for investment dried up. It was the old story of 'borrowing short and lending long', which MUST always come to a sticky end. At least when you invest in shares the value of the company backs the value of the shares, unless something goes drastically wrong. Then you have made the wrong choice and have done poor homework before buying. There is always some risk, but investors in finance companies maximised their risk in return for high interest. They came unstuck, some in a big way. I have some shares returning me 10% to 12% in dividends annually, but I have never, and would never invest, in a finance company.	Richard (739)

B u g g e r, you would have to ask those awkward questions, when we have been out of home for 5 weeks, while it's under repair. ANZ/National banks' have taken back control of investment stratergies. Sharemarket investments we had, have gone over to our son, so can't comment on how it's performing for him, good shares like PDL, Ernest Adams, NZF, Goodman and Montana were all gobbled up and the resulting capital and capital gains were invested (by financial advisor) into finance companies, we are very sorry to say. ANZ bank passes investment monies onto OnePath for investment. Wespac bank utilizes BT Funds Management. National Bank as part of ANZ would no doubt use OnePath. As you commented shares in some companies have done very well, not that you see the bonus shares being dished out now, but then imputation credits have had their uses in tax relief. Lurking.
