1295813	2012-08-21 10:39:00	Its bizarre how people are shocked when soldiers get killed, Hell, thats their job, To go into war zones and to try and kill the people that are at that exact same time trying to kill them. And shock horror, That ended as expected, Lets misquote and then rant at Rhys Jones for commentating about the circumstances involved. I couldn't agree more! They were not conscripted troops. They chose to join the army and train to be killers to interfere with another country as political lackeys. I am not religious but "those who live by the sword die by the sword". What is all the fuss about. A friend who was conscripted had his guts blown out for the British Government, and didn't even get a funeral. Since the USA troops have been using them they have had only 8 guys killed in them out of Thousands of attacks ! The MRAPs are very heavy vehicles, there have been at least 5 killed when the MRAP went off road. Lets change the rules of any war -- Arm everyone with paint guns, and IED's are paint bombs- you get hit - you get sent back home with a bruise and a rag to wipe off the paint .	wainuitech (129)

1295817	2012-08-21 22:19:00	Perhaps we should look at it from the the Talebans point of view. They see armed soldiers from foreign lands in their country. I think if I was an Afghani I would be be doing my best to kill armed foreigners. How would you like armed foreign forces in NZ even if a government let them in. Nope its not on, citizens would need to ambush them and blow up their vehicles, attack their bases.	prefect (6291)

We have had NZ soldiers die in NZ in Uni-mogs trucks that went off the road. And the NZ Defence forces are now saying that MRAPS are a bit too big for the roads. There are lots of provinces in Afghanistan - is Bamyian the only one with narrow roads ? These are just excuses to justify the fact that we could not afford to buy them.	Digby (677)
1295821	2012-08-22 01:43:00	Need to put these losses in perspective, a lot of defence people kill themselves every year riding motorcycles and from accidents driving pissed. Digby right about the Mogs they have killed heaps. The Germans are still killing us by way of their top heavy trucks.	prefect (6291)
