Same specs otherwise for use at school so maybe some 3D work and a little code compiling and website creation For website creation you would be unlikely to notice any difference but would for 3D. The question is how much extra you are prepared to pay to save a few minutes waiting. I don't know the speed or price difference between 1.8GHz and 2.5GHz but I wouldn't be prepared to pay over $150 extra for 10 minutes waiting over an hour. If the price difference was less than $100 then I would definitely go for it provided they were compatible with the same motherboard. Put the names of the processors into Google and find a website with a benchmark comparison between them. As someone else said, sometimes you only see a speed difference in certain applications and not much difference overall. |
