2012-08-23 09:40:00 | I actually bought the August PC world for a change. Normally the only magazine I get is NZ Wilderness currently via Zinio digital but think might go back to the paper version as the digital edition is just not the same | gary67 (56) | |
2012-08-23 20:22:00 | PC World is the only computer mag I touch. Most of the time I end up disappointed with the lack of depth in the 'how to' articles, like the recent issue on networking. They give you enough info to think you can do it in 5 minutes, and not enough info to get past the traps. I suppose the articles would be horribly stale if they went through all the tricks and traps with getting all Windows versions to talk to each other (MS seems to like breaking what works with every edition in order to force upgrades of every OS in the building... I know the reason (greed), but it does get tiresome) On the other hand, there's so much other content I have no interest in, like wireless, mobiles, printers and cameras. Soon it'll be obsessing on Win8 and become even less relevant to me. I don't see a solution for this. You can't please every reader from cover to cover, and I'm generally slow to adopt a new OS, so I'm not their target audience.

2012-08-23 21:38:00 | Yes - what is a magazine ? Years ago it was PC World, especially to get those free floppies and CD's with Shareware on them. (but I did get upset with their superficial printer and camera reviews) But things have changed. Many newspapers are down sizing. Magazines are under threat Newsprint factories are down sizing. The world is changing. People only have x amount of time and money.

2012-08-24 05:21:00 | PCWorld, but it's getting boring. Needs to get a bit more technical. | sahilcc7 (15483) | |
2012-08-25 05:52:00 | I subscribe to PCWorld, I scan it, read letters, & probably 30% of rest. One Magazine that I buy maybe once a month is New Scientist, and read probably 70% or so of it | Brucem (8688) | |

Had a flick through a PC User mag at school, not very interesting. PC world do too many articles on phones. They should write more on PC's. They are way too brief as well. But I suppose they have to keep to the page limit. |
