1295431 2012-08-19 04:56:00 I was a pilot once, but you guys are getting too far technical for me.

Only once are you sure it wasn't twice? It's unusual to be a pilot only once unless you scared yourself sh&^le^& :devil

Yep mostly if you are only a pilot once you cannot talk about it afterwards. They talk about you at the inquiry

1295434 2012-08-19 07:15:00 Cheers guys . Have got a better understanding of it all now .

For a momentary bank, it can get quite extreme for a short while with no harm, but if it is a sustained bank angle things get a bit complex . if it is just momentarily "dipped" by turbulence, it could conceivably go beyond a right angle without any great structural loading on the aircraft . Cups of tea etc . might make their own arrangements though .

Not to mention the arrangements made in one's underwear . :p :D

1295435 2012-08-19 07:36:00 What would happen if the plane tried to turn on a treadmill? Probably best to ignore that question! Anyhow, why did you ask, Foxy? Jester (13)
1295436 2012-08-19 07:37:00 Hmm I remember the taking off on a treadmill thread from the last year interesting concepts came up on that one.

Here you go wade through this one (pressf1.pcworld.co.nz)

Yep, that question is always sure to fire up any forum, hence me mentioning it ;) I remember the 2005 discussion very well lol. Wow, it was that long ago?!

1295439 2012-08-19 11:15:00 Sheesh It must have been dug up again recently (last few years) it seems familiar! Either that or I have been floating around too long. The Error Guy (14052)
