My nephew in England who was born deaf and had a cochlear implant at 18months of age (now 22) originally had a battery pack in a chest harness was it took 2 AA batteries that had to be changed every day, now has a smaller unit that just sits in his shirt pocket and the batteries last all week, not sure what batteries it uses now must be some small round ones as the unit is so small
Does he prefer a "shirt pocket" version or is he not able to use a behind-the-ear processor? |

I haven't a clue as I'm not over there any more and haven't seen him for a couple of years. I do know they only wired up one ear though as they always leave one encase of future improvements in technology |

If he is getting a week out of his batteries he is doing alright. :) |
