1320555 2012-12-28 23:47:00 Dad's just bought a Galaxy SII and wants to have text messages read out loud while he's driving (he has a handsfree kit). On my Windows Phone this is a built-in option in Speech, which reads out the sender's name and gives me the option to read or ignore it, and then lets me send a reply with voice or simply call back. It'll also only do this when connected to Bluetooth, but can also do this all the time. How can I achieve the same thing in Android 4.0? pcuser42 (130)

1320558 2012-12-29 06:33:00 lifehacker.com That's what we've got at the moment, but it doesn't seem to have the option to call the sender back instead. pcuser42 (130)
1320559 2012-12-29 06:43:00 Does the S2 offer the same Driving Mode feature as the S3? if so, it should let you do this while in Driving Mode. Or put Jelly Bean on it and use Google Now ;) inphinity (7274)

It has driving mode, but it only reads out the number that texted, not the name of the person, and doesn't read it out.

1320561 2012-12-29 19:14:00 I'd be interested in an answer myself as my SGS2 only reads out the caller / SMS name no message.. paulw (1826)
