2002-11-12 06:50:00 | hi every one, i just changed hosting form geocities to orcon. theres a prob, i only can see the index.html, index2.html, home.html pages but not the rest, i put all my pages in the htdocs folder.. am i suppose to put my other pages in other folders? http://clanswat.orcon.net go and take a look | TiM©:*) (977) | |
2002-11-12 07:08:00 | Tim, make sure all your files in Orcon have lowercase filenames - this could be your problem. EG timmytitle.jpg and timmytitle.JPG and TIMMYTITLE.jpg and TimmyTitle.jpg could be treated as different files by orcon - go through all the files on the Orcon server and rename them all to be lowercase. HTH Mike.

2002-11-12 07:21:00 | i just had a furthur look.. the link to skins goes to "clanswat.orcon.net.nz/skins" This will need to go to a new folder with its own index.html file, and its own set of images etc, either that or create skins.htm in the main folder of your page My recomendation is to use the same folder for similar pages, but a different one for pages that have their own set of images. This means that the same image is preloaded, such as a common background image, BUT you don't end up with a hundred files in the same folder, which in my case often leads to it becoming difficult to maintain .Clueless

2002-11-12 07:55:00 | csbots.html still aint happening wasn't there a big pic up the top before? BTW it think geocities must have the only webserver where you don't have to type .html after a html files name .Clueless

2002-11-14 06:59:00 | Tim it's not good form to have dead links on a page. A handy hint is to have the link in the HTML but you can "hide" it by placing it in comments. Such as: because it is in the it is commented out.
