97819 2002-11-11 18:48:00 I have played around with a network before, but never set one up. Yesterday I plugged all the PC's into the DSL router and away they all went. Got the file sharing all working, except the 1 machine with NTFS. Then threw VNC on a couple so I could help in times of trouble (also made all the windows updates easy). Just a print server to go when the switch arrives.

I was expecting it to be harder, with all the network problems you hear about.

97823 2002-11-12 20:09:00 I am interested to know what OS you are running on the machine with NTFS? I have a network set up with 2 systems running a pair of NTFS drives each, and my 2 win98 PC's have no problems viewing the NTFS drives.

(One thing to try, enable the guest account on the NTFS system if it is winXP, as the win98 machines don't seem to be able to access the winXP systems otherwise)

Craig.
