I managed to restore operations by re-installing XP but my computer will no longer go through the automatic shutdown and switch off but gives the earlier ït is now safe to shut down your computer message". How do I restore the auto shut down programme? b. After downloading MS SP1 the system does not recognise Google and has become sluggish. I have presently reverted to pre download conditions Help please. |

And you say you downloaded SP1 - did you install it, or just download it? >>> How do I restore the auto shut down programme? I believe that there is a patch available from Microsoft - I'll do a search there and see if I can find anything, otherwise someone else here may be able to answer your query . Mike . |

How do I restore the auto shut down programme? If you look in control panel/Performance and Maintenance/Power Options you will see an APM tab, is there a tick in the box? IE6 is built to utilise html code, so don't know why this is happening?:| rads:) |
