98153 2002-11-13 10:44:00 Hahahah Elephant very impressive with your "I know all the OS out there" and your comparisons philosophy. See everybody knows ME is unstable and can not be trusted...ask your mates...do a survey...even Microsoft would say it in your face...ME IS NOTHING we just felt like earning a couple of billion for the sake of it...

And for Mr Pacino (godfather) out there who knows about Operating systems! Look what he writes in a different post.

<Havent used Outlook for a year or so, but it always used to print the file icon and filename for all attachments when I last used it.>

Now godfather you don't even know OUTLOOK EXPRESS or should i say (97% of people's DEFAULT E-MAIL PROGRAM) and you are telling me about how much experience you have got with Windows ME, what do you do with it in the first place? Stare at the Wallpaper?

PS: Thanks for correcting me there with your factual info on the Error Screen let me tell you this .................WHO CARES?
WinMe is still the bottom of the Operating Systems's Chain

Cheers

98154 2002-11-13 10:49:00 Yeah, your scarying me! I am a new computer person with my first pc and been running ME since October two years ago. Didn't even know how to start the damn thing when I bought it. I have tried just about every program I come across on the net over those two years and ME is continueing to run fine. When is it going to crap out on me?? Danger (287)
98155 2002-11-13 11:00:00 Hahahah ok...

It depends on what it 'craps you out' on, some people don't really care about small bugs (don't tell me that it has never crashed on you!) your problem is probably jealousy...have you checked lately, how many Trojans you have got on it?

Here download this and see for yourself

98156 2002-11-13 11:02:00 The only OS I am familiar with is WinME.

I have found that it runs perfectly if you increase the RAM to at least 128mb, stick with IE5.5 keep the house-keeping (defrag etc) up to date AND DON'T install every bit of free software going.

I think people just like to slag ME off for the sake of it.

98160 2002-11-13 11:27:00 Yeah, thanks for the link. I have downloaded the thirty day version and run it and guess what? My system is clean! Don't know why you thought it would be full off bugs? Thanks anyway. I can sleep easy confident in the fact that my system is squeaky clean and trouble free, thanks to you. Danger (287)
98161 2002-11-13 11:29:00 And why can't it run IE6? Thats what I'm running. Danger (287)
98162 2002-11-13 19:18:00 When I got my new computer 18 months ago I read in forums like these and PC mags how bad ME was. My computer crashed 4 or 5 times a day and would'nt play games for any length of time. Ithought the problem was ME, and tried all the fixes I could find. 6 months later, after much frustration I found there was a bios problem.
Since this has been fixed there have been no crashes, Ive got a sixteen year old son who downloads everything he can get his hands and I've got heaps of programs including Kazza. If I'd not been convinced Me was the problem, which it was'nt, I would have ensured that the company I bbought the comp from fixed it.
