No need :) Since Susan reached 1000 she's posted around 700 posts, and I've done roughly 1150, so at this rate, I might just pass her before she hits 2000 :D

Mike.

PS Unless of course she reads this thread and gets motivated to beat me :(

98016 2002-11-12 04:33:00 Geez robo, anyone else asking this question would have been flamed off the planet for being too lazy to dig in the archives... ;-) :D

I'm glad you did though, because I wanted to know as well and I couldn't be bothered digging in the archives either hehe.

Now all I need do is reply to this thread again and I'll have the email notification provide me with a reference link. :-)

98018 2002-11-12 04:39:00 Anyway Mike, remember what they all said when I got to 1000? Quantity of posts is no indication of quality.... are you out to feed them more cannon fodder? ;-)

98021 2002-11-12 06:59:00 Isn't hiss the real problem with cassettes? There are applications which will deal with it, but can be quite complicated to get a good outcome. Or is there a simple way to eliminate hiss? Shortstop (632)
98022 2002-11-12 07:27:00 Hiss?

well surely there is software for a noize gate...
hey if you want to start messing with the quality, download "protools" it is audio engineering software..
personally i wouldn't bother.. I would just patch in a noize gate!

98024 2002-11-12 07:49:00 Hi...

Perhaps try dBPowerAmp Music Converter and it's plugin called dMC Auxilliary Input for recording from tape & LP' s. You can easily convert to MP3's/WAV's and from WMA's to MP3's with downloaded codecs. I got this from hunting deep within Google...Though have not bothered with recording and converting from tapes yet...
