| 97977 | 2002-11-12 02:44:00 | My friend bougt a Dynalink RTA210 Adsl router for connection to Xtra's Jetstream. There's no setup application came with it except a pdf instruction help document. I tried to follow the instructions but lead me to nowhere! The manual says, for Web configuration, type in 192.168.1.1 and enter the password to start configure the router. But, how and where to enter the above IP address? Has anyone else using the above Adsl router and has successfully configured it? Cheers bk |

| 97978 | 2002-11-12 02:57:00 | I'm guessing ... but if you use your telnet emulator to connect to it at that IP address, it will give you a prompt for the password, and then allow you to do the configuration. (If you are using XP, I believe "Hyperterminal" is the Telnet equivalednt). | Graham L (2) | ||

| 97984 | 2002-11-12 04:46:00 | I would be inclined to have only one computer directly plugged into the router while doing the setup. This may need a crossover cable (or have it as the only computer plugged into the hub, then the hub connected to the router). Basically, once you can ping the router, you should be OK. If you can't ping it, you can't set it. :D Did you get any response from the router? Try using the "/" after the IP address ... this is the strict syntax.: "192.168.1.1 My routers are much easier --- they have serial console ports, and I can plug a terminal in. :D |
